I hope you will find it useful. We want it to be full of information to help
parents, prospective parents, children, staff and everybody who has an
interest in our school community.
The current Governing body is a very vocal, supportive and strong group
of volunteers including parents, staff, community members and local
authority representatives. We all have one main objective which is to get
the best education for the children of Yeo Moor.
What is the role of the Governors?
The Governing body has a huge role within the school including setting budgets and employing the Head Teacher with whom we agree the staffing levels. Our aim is to maintain and improve the schools standards of education. We set the schools vision for the future, set strategic aims and agree plans and policies.
Another important role is the monitoring and evaluating of the schools performance, we act as a critical friend to the Head to support and challenge him on the management of the school. We are accountable to the children, parents, staff and the local authority.
We make important decisions that affect the school; we take no decision lightly and do so with the overwhelming need to give children the best education possible.
What’s so good about Yeo Moor Primary?
There is a very unique community feel about the school, many of the parents are involved in the school not just on the Governing body but the “Friends of Yeo Moor” (previously known as the P.T.A.) too. Many parents offer invaluable help volunteering in school on a daily basis. The quiz nights, summer fayre and numerous other events during the year are always well attended (even by the staff!)
We have a great mix of new and long serving staff and it just goes to show how committed the staff are that some have been here for many years and have become passionate about Yeo Moor. We are a newly amalgamated school which brings many challenges for staff and Governors. We have worked very hard to ensure that this transition has been seamless for the children and I hope we succeeded in this.
